Warning! Those who refuse to know the facts and want to cling to their own “facts” should not look further.
Have you ever seen a leaf bug (Phylliidae) in person? When I first saw a picture on the internet (back when the internet was young) I thought, “No way!” My mom told me, “you are what you eat,” but a leaf eating a leaf? I have books that talk about mimicry, but they don’t mention the leaf bug. There are many other great examples of mimicry in the animal kingdom such as the large intimidating eyes on the owl butterfly, or the striking camouflage of the walking stick. But the leaf bug gets the grand prize.
I licensed most of the pictures here, but some are my own. I’m privileged to have seen live leaf insects at the Durham Museum of Life + Science. They had a special exhibit in the front area of their insectarium (shown here). There were no staff presentation at the time like in this picture. The bugs were in their terrarium, well disguised among the plants. There was no one paying attention to it because no one saw anything – at least until they saw me taking a bunch of pictures. I must say that my face was lit up brighter than those kids in this photo! Look again at the second picture above. Zoom in. See it? That’s the best picture I was able to take so you can see that it’s really a bug. It’s not hard to see why so many people walked right past this display.
As you browse the pictures, be amazed at how much they look like leaves. Most of these pictures are of live bugs, but they still have what looks like dried edges and dried spots resembling the same features we find on leaves. Check out the vein structure. Astounding! I try to keep my articles short. But in this case, a picture is worth a thousand words and I couldn’t limit myself to just a couple pictures. This is amazing stuff!
Please read my evolution article before going further.
During the time of Charles Darwin, when little was known about the complexity of genes and DNA, it would have been easier to make the argument that the leaf insect somehow took on the traits of the leaf (or visa versa). I doubt that Darwin would have been convinced by such an argument, but to this day there are no answers about how these traits can possibly evolve. Evolutionists continue to pound the “fact of evolution,” but can’t come up with one scientific answer to this one. Talk about faith in something without proof, believers in the evolution have the greatest degree of blind-faith to be found on the planet. Of all the crazy stuff people believe, evolution takes the cake.
Since Darwin’s day, we have an immensely greater understanding of how heredity works, and it runs smack in the face of those “scientific” theories that they are so presumptuous to call facts. Science simply has no other explanation other than this resemblance is intentional, i.e. influenced by an external force with intent to create the same visual likeness by manipulating the coding within two completely different types of organisms (plant vs animal) at a very high level of “development” (complex lifeforms). It is preposterous to reason that these traits were passed down from the common single-cell ancestor that somehow had decedents of both plant and animal. These similar traits (shape, color, form of a leaf verses that of the insect) had to have been developed independently. The coding required to produce the structures with the same appearance, but completely different makeup and purpose, is vastly different between plant and animal. Then how did they converge to the same look? This is clear, intentional genetic programming. Any evolutionary explanation is pure fantasy, implying greater miracles than the parting of the Red Sea, or causing the Sun to go backwards.
Smart people realize this design is intelligent and intentional. That’s why those who are smart and still avoiding the truth are shifting their belief to aliens. That may sound ridiculous to the average reader, but if you consider how much time the History Channel is giving to the idea and then consider how much money the US government with NASA and other governments are pouring into this idea, then you’ll understand that I’m not off base. Have you heard about the Beagle? You’ll find the name here and here. Billions are being spent to give evolution new legs (the alien-evolution theory), but as with mutated legs, they won’t be able to stand. So, I must also address the alien topic too because it has already deceived millions and has the potential to hoodwink billions more as those caught in the exodus from evolution on Earth will be looking for another story that’s more palatable, but not less fictitious. This article shows that evolution didn’t happen here (on Earth), or anywhere else.
I find it amazing that we’re still talking about evolution with such a clear example as this. The reason why we are still talking about it is that evolution isn’t science at all, it’s a religion based on human desire – a false religion. Consider what God, through the apostle Paul, has to say about it:
18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. [Romans 1:18-25]
I almost forgot one more thing. Did you check out the video at the top. They got that rustling-leaf dance down! Who was their teacher?
