Here are some great Charities:

Hope for Haiti’s Children does a phenomenal job!  Not only have they earned the highest 4-star rating on Charity Navigator, but they are one of less than 1% of thousands of charities receiving a perfect score for financial health, accountability, and transparency.  You can be sure your dollars goes to serving children, not self promotion and administrative fees.

I’m a Wikipedia addict!  They usually pop up first when I google something and I usually don’t have to look further.  Consider donating.

Did you know that just by buying through Amazon Smile instead of the regular Amazon website that they will donate to your charity a percentage?  It’s easy, and it adds up!  Hope for Haiti’s Children has received thousands this way.

According to the foundation’s website, The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5 percent of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases. As you start giving more, consider a donor advised fund.  It gives some of the same benefits as having your own personal foundation, but at a very low cost.  You can set up automatic-scheduled, or one-time gifts to your charities (including your church), remain anonymous if you choose, and save on taxes by bunching your donations.  Fidelity Charitable is one such donor advised fund.  It is actually a charity (Tax ID 11-0303001).  When you give to Fidelity Charitable, the money is held in an account waiting for your advice.  When giving to any charity, tax law has strict restrictions against your ability to direct what they do with your donations.  In this case, you’re not telling them, but only advising them.  They’re model is to listen to your advise.  They manage billions of dollars this way!
